I came across a page in the Box Office Mojo and I was delighted to see a list of 2005 movies who top the industry. I have seen most of the movies and I believe that they were really suited to be on the list. The listing was based on the international gross sales made by the movie and the amount was truly remarkable.

 

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

 

This Harry Potter chapter occupied the number one spot with its big $896.8 Million sales. The sequel tells the exciting story of how Harry and his friends, Hermione and Ron, unfold the secrets of Lord Voldemort return. The movie excites many of Harry Potter fans and it shows in the sales figure.

 

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

 

Director George Lucas epic movie sequels continues to amused watchers from 70’s up to now. This time Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith brings forth an Anakin Skywalker story on he slowly becomes the Darth Vader. The movie conquered the second spot of the list with its glorious $848.8 Million sales.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

This movie adaptation of the classic C.S. Lewis fantasy novel is the number three film of 2005. Its sales reached $745 Million. The movie was full of entertainment and many have enjoyed watching it especially the young ones.

 

War of the Worlds

 

Steven Spielberg continues to entertain us and in 2005 it was proven by his War of the Worlds movie. The film set a record of having $591.7 Million worldwide gross sales and made it the number four film on the list.

 

King Kong

 

The classic giant gorilla film titled King Kong takes another theatrical break. With a modern movie making technology and tricks, the movie ends up as the number five film of 2005. It has secured $550.5 Million gross sales from international viewers.

 

Madagascar

 

At number six is the wacky escapade of a group of zoo animals. This film brought great fun and laughs to many youngsters around the world. The movie earned $532.7 Million gross sales.

 

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

 

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie team up to bring this spy action movie that landed on the seventh place  on the list. The movie earned $478 Million worldwide.

 

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

 

The movie was the second movie adaptation of Roald Dahl 1964 children’s book. The film stars Johnny Depp and earned $475 Million in sales.

 

Batman Begins

 

Another Batman story that came strong in the worldwide cinema. This time Christian Bale plays Batman. The movie has gained the interest of many viewers making it the ninth film on the list.   

 

Hitch

 

The tenth movie to complete the list is the Hitch. Will Smith takes the role of a date doctor  which he is very good at until one day he met a lady, played by Eva Mendes, who gives his ways and knowledges of girls a new meaning. The movie earned $368.1 Million.

 

This is the list of the 10 movies that earned the highest gross sales in 2005. Watching these movies will still give you entertainment and fun.
